I love Barry

Posting quite a lot now cos I feel bad for not posting for over a week!
Just painted my nails so thought I'd show you my new design!

Basic but tricky! I'll show you another pic of how I done it...

Simply by taking some masking tape and placing it on my nail where my white tip starts! Sounds easy, but it can be kind of tricky! I made sure the tape wasn't too sticky by touching it a few times, as I had previously put on a base coat, and didn't want that to come off! Then I simply took my polish colour and painted on the tip, not mattering if I got it on the tape or not!
In this look I used 'Peach Melba' by BarryM. I was originally going to use black, but I think I need a new one! I don't always choose to use BarryM, it's just because I've got a ridiculous collection of the colours, so it works quite well!

I then topped off the look by using BarryM, topcoat, basecoat & nail hardener to give that shiny effect!
Not sure why I went for this look, think I wasn't too bothered about having something crazy, so went for subtle but interesting!

So here's the collection.

Oops...!

Apologies..

I can't believe I haven't posted for over a week! Terrible! Sorry!

I don't think I've posted because I literally haven't bought anything exciting or make-up related. I did buy some clothes in the sale so I'll be sure to pop photos of those up when I can.

I've been really busy too. The last week I've had a few interviews so I've been preparing, researching, finding clothes to wear etc etc!

But for now I'll show you a glimpse of my latest nail look!

Cute and Summery I think!

To get this look I used:

BarryM products! My collection of BarryM is growing more and more, I forget what colours I've got! First up I used the;
Basecoat, Topcoat & Nail Hardener
Along with, Berry
and then... Silver Cascade (which is a newbie to my collection) on my ring fingers!

I got the Silver Cascade polish in Topshop at Oxford Street. I've never seen it in any of my local BarryM boutiques so I'm figuring up the city is where you'll find it easiest to get! It's a really great selection of glitter and doesn't budge for anyone! (I can warn you it is a bit of a pain when you want to get it off!)

I forgot I had the colour Berry so it was nice to use this again! Fits in well for this weather which doesn't want to make up it's mind!

Have any of you tried this?

New - John Frieda: Precision Foam Colour

I got my hair cut the other day but normally colour it myself, as I find it cheaper! My hairdresser and I get along quite well and she insisted I NEEDED to dye my roots. Haha! Normally I use Schwarzkopf XXL Colour (whatever it's called...) But Sarah (hairdresser) recommended this one by John Frieda.
I must admit I'm a little scared to use it as it's not your normal dye, but a foam instead! Eek!
I decided to get this colour; Deep Cherry Brown as I fancy a tinge of red in there!

So if any of you have used it please tell me what it's like and how to properly use it! I'm sure I'll manage but any help or tips would be great! I would love to do my hair Ombre/Dip dye style, but I just don't think it's long enough! I'm in one of those stages at the moment where I don't know what to do with my barnet! Therefore I'm just going to leave it and let it grow.

I think I may do this colour today, so I'll be sure to take a before and after photo!

Vera Wang; Lovestruck

I was watching Fleur (FleurDeForce) on YouTube and she spoke about this new perfume by Vera Wang called Lovestruck. Normally I don't really look for new perfumes as I love the ones I've already got! But after a good ole trip to Boots, I saw the huge stand for Lovestruck and then saw some cheeky samples! I didn't think I would like this, but the more I smell my small sample, the more I fall in love with it!
Not to mention the packaging! Oh my, it's probably the prettiest perfume bottle I've ever seen!

Here is the description:

Vera Wang Lovestruck Perfume is the brand new fragrance from Vera Wang. It is all about being overwhelmed, inexplicably, hopelessly in love. Vera Wang Lovestruck Perfume opens with notes of exotic and juicy pink guava and soothing angelica blossom. The middle notes bloom with tones of intoxicating and sensual tuberose with aquatic lotus flower, whilst recious woody notes and sheer musk form rich and longlasting base

Whether or not I purchase this, I don't know. I think I may have to give my boyfriend a little hint!

Other News...
I am currently in the process of doing a make-up swap with a lovely lady called Sophie from America! Check out her blog linked! So that could be why I've been busy too! I'm about to send her pressies today. I can't wait to get mine so I can do a blog post on them!

I promise to be back soon with more posts! Hope you're all well!

BarryM & MAC

Today I went shopping with my babes Chellsie (check out her blog!) to London town. Seeing as there was sales literally, everywhere, we had a little spree. Typically I just bought some make-up and nail polishes! So I thought I'd make a quick post to share them with you!

These were my buys of the day! Not really alot, but alot in price!
How gorgeous is that sparkly nail polish!

The polish is called 'Silver Cascade'
Chellsie introduced me to this one and I absolutely love it! Reminds me of a circus! Can't wait to try it on my nails!

Here's a quick swatch just over my original nail polish!
The pink polish in the photo is called, 'Pink Flamingo'. I think this will look gorgeous for the summer, I don't wear pinks alot! So thought it'd be a good opportunity to buy a good ole BarryM one!

MAC lipsticks!

(Left with flash, Right without)
These 2 are called;
(Frost) CB 96 (not sure on that name?!) -Orange
(Creamsheen) Crosswires -Pink

Love these colours! I really fancied an orangey colour for summer as I think I can pull it off haha!
Aaaaand then I thought I'd just treat myself and buy 2! These were £13.50 each. Really, I don't think that the price is that bad! Considering you're getting a good quality, high end lipstick, known to be a good brand. £13.50 I think is Ok!

(flash CB96)

(no flash CB96)

(flash Crosswires)

(no flash Crosswires)

Just a quick post as I'm so tired from walking around for 7 hours!
Time for sleep, then I'm up in the morning for work! :(

Hope you're all well and enjoyed the lovely sun today!
Heat wave next week! (Apparently...)

Friday, June 17

Think a bird flew into my window...

Literally.
Haha, how's that for a photo!

I've really gotta start doing my posts more! I'm slacking!
But I've got a little haul for you! I went shopping today with my Mumma, she's my shopping partner!
I picked up a few new bits that I wanted to try.

So, here goes!

I stayed at my boyfriends the other night, had a shower in the morning and used this beaut conditioning protecting masque on my hair. He said it wasn't his, but he described how it worked so well, I began to differ haha! So, I picked it up on my shopping trip today. I used a slightly different one to the one I bought, but this is for coloured hair, so... perfect for me!

It's quite a big ole tub so I think it'll last me a while!
The routine ideally, is to use the colour protect shampoo, then conditioner and once a week use this masque for an 'extra protective boost'.
The one I used the other day made my hair smell so good and feel so soft, I needed to get it!
I got this in Superdrug for around £4. So, if I'm gonna use this once a week, I think £4 is rather good!

I also picked up a Beautycard which Superdrug are now doing! Not sure what it does, I'm guessing it's like all the other cards I've got in my purse!

Next up. I've literally wanted to try the Aussie hair products for SO long. But the price always puts me off. But I finally caved in after however long it's been and bought them!

I bought these 2 from Tesco for around £7. Superdrug were doing a deal; 2 for £5.99. But the stock was pretty limited so I decided on good ole 'every little helps'.
I love the little slogan on these bottles! Pretty sarcastic just like me. I can't wait to try these though. I'm thinking I may only use them on special occasions seeing as I don't wanna pay out £7 each time for a new pair! These are with 'Australian wild peach' ...which to me, sound b-e-a-u-tttiful!
Not sure why the conditioner is smaller than the shampoo though. I suppose it will limit how much I squeeze if I've paid £7!

Next, good ole BarryM Basecoat, Topcoat and Nail hardener.
I've never used any other version so if you've got any suggestions, throw them my way! This was £2.99 from Superdrug, once again.
For me personally, I find that this helps my nail polish stay on really well. It hardly chips, but that may be because I don't work hard enough. Who knows... I'm sure it's not!

Now this, I've really wanted to try since I've seen the gorgeous advert with Jennifer Lopez in!

The new L'Oreal Glam Shine Fresh lipgloss. I think this one is Aqua Mandarin. I got this for £5.99? I believe! So, straight away, not sure about this! In the advert, here is what the beautiful Lopez looks like wearing the Aqua Mandarin Shine.

Ahem... and me.

Personally, I can't see no orangey glistening shine. The advantages of the new lip gloss are that its L'Oreal's first, enriched with Vitamin C & E and the description does it make it sounds so alluring;
'The patented heart-shape applicator for precise application of L'Oreal Paris Glam Shine Fresh to the lips. The centre of the heart captures the formula so one quick sweep of the wand is all you need to for glossy lips with a mirror like shine effect' ...sounds dreamy right?

The only thing I'd say is that I found it came off quite quickly compared to the L'Oreal 6HR lip gloss. However the texture of that one is slightly more stickier than the glam shine.
I think this gloss will be nice if you're on holiday and just want a quick refreshing top up fulfilled with Vitamins. I'm just a little bit gutted there's not an orangey glistening shine!

Lastly! I popped into BHS as they do some nice jewellery for a fairly reasonable price! I picked up these two;

I fancied some dangly earrings and these ones tickled my fancy! Think they will look quite nice with my hair down and wavy or completely up and visible! And of course, a ring. I can't come away from a shopping trip without one. So I picked up this cute leaf-like styled twisted ring.

Not a bad shopping trip really. Seeing as I actually went to buy things for Fathers Day, I think I got a little distracted!

Let's just hope he understands! :)

Wooden floors, walls and window sills...

So today, I've been none stop listening to The Cinematic Orchestra. If you haven't heard of these guys and like instrumental/orchestral music, check.them.out. Their another one of my favourites along with Sigur Ros.

I promised I was going to do a haul about a week ago so here it is. I must admit I'm slacking on the blogging a bit, so I better get cracking!
Last week I shopped till I dropped and bought a few bits.

Firstly, good ole BarryM nail polishes. I thought I'd get summery and choose some bright colours!

These colours are pretty average I think! Nothing overly special about them except they are bright! Orange one is called; Block Orange and the Red; Bright Red. I thought I'd get them as it's been sunny, however the weather has let us down today! Non stop rain!
I haven't tried these to yet as it just doesn't feel summery enough. I've got an interview Wednesday so I'll probably opt for my dusky mauve!.

I'll put a photo up what these babies look like when the weather perks up!

Reading blogs and watching other girlies on youtube, I noticed quite a few are talking about the new Vo5 products. The oomph powder especially. So I popped into Superdrug and had a little peek! Typically, they had a deal going on enticing us to spend more money! I think it was, buy 2 products for around £4.49? So instantly I picked up the powder!

So all you do with this, is sprinkle some of the powder on your roots. I have to admit I was a bit skeptical about this and whether it would work, but it truely does! I'll post a before and after picture up when I've done my hair all properly for you to see!
But literally, all you do is tap a bit on, scrunch your hair and Voila.
Instant Oomph! (It smells quite nice too)

Then seeing as the deal was 2 items for £4.49, I picked up this Volume hair spray.
I thought it would be quite good to use along with the powder for extra oomph! Again, I'll post a photo of my hair when it's all pretty and what not. Also, this smells lovely too!
£4.49 for those 2 was pretty good I think...

This, you may not of seen before. I think this product is great. I'm all for hair removal, anything new or old! I'll try it. It's hard to describe this tool and exactly what it is. What you do, is take one of those punk strips and stick it on the purple tool. After that you're ready to use the hair remover. (I'll let you into a secret and tell you I use this on little places like... my knuckles!) I like my hands to look pretty, especially if you're meeting someone and intervene in a hand shake. Always nice to look prepped! So I use this little tool. Personally, I haven't tried to use this on my face but I think I'll give it a go seeing as it is for that!

I bought this from a small Savers shop for around £2-3. The pink strips last for ages too, seeing as small areas are the main object.

If you can get your hands on one of these, give it a go. They are really good, especially if you've got hair where you don't want it!

Again, this is another 'Silki(y)miz(t)
But this one is for your legs. I used this the day I got it and the results are brilliant. I didn't think it would work as well as it did, nor make my legs as smooth as it did! If you're in a hurry or just forget to shave your legs, this is perfect. Just a small mit (I don't wanna put you off but the texture of the paper is quite rough!) however when you rub it on your legs, it is ultra smooth and the results are smoother! Again this was around £2-3 and you get 3 in a pack!

Surprise! Another hair remover. Easy peasy, wax strips! I also cut these up and use them for different areas! I buy these as I just find it much cheaper than going to a salon. The more I do it the better I become! I bought quite alot of these as I use them ALL the time. In this pack you get 40 re-usable strips. But really, that's 80 as they are double sided! I got these from Boots for about £9.59. Seemed quite a lot at the time but if I use them regularly, may aswell buy them in bulk!

And lastly, I bought a new ring from H&M. This was £4. I saw it in Oxford Street and couldn't decide whether to get it! So I left it. Yet picked it up in my local H&M at Lakeside. I may do a post of all my rings seeing as I have a ridiculous amount!

(Oh and my latest nail design!) :)

Oh and just another one!
My eye make-up for the day!

These colours are from my Urban Decay Naked palette.

The black is 'Creep' and the gold is 'Half Baked'
All of the colours in the palette are so pigmented and easy to put on, the look afterwards always looks outstanding. I also used the Urban Decay Eden primer to set the shadows. The mascara I used was my daily MAC Dazzle Lash.

So there is my haul!
Speak soon!

Wednesday, May 25

This is literally amazing.

I've been looking at a few blogs along with youtube recently and I came across this literally, amazing nail art.
It's called Water Marble.
On youtube, a lovely lady under the name of SimpleLittlePleasures, has been creating these amazing patterns.
So, I thought I'd have a go myself!

So basically, what you do;

Get a cup of water (preferably filtered)
Take some nail polishes, start off with 2 colours
Drip a blob of the nail polishes in the water one after the other
(A target like effect will appear)
Take a cocktail stick
Move the water about creating a pattern
Prep your skin around your nails with tape
Dip your nail into the water and the pattern take effect

and literally, VOILA!
How amazing is that.
I'll post a video of SimpleLittlePleasures, and how she does it here:

Here is my favourite nail I done!

Crazy!
To create my effect, I used BarryM Peach Melba and BeautyUK Pink Explosion

Let me know what you think, or if you have a go yourself!

Dipping my 'Savings' for Make-up is not good...

Hello! Thank you to all my new followers who have joined my blog recently! I really appreciate it! Knowing that you've all clicked that little button that says 'Follow' means a great deal to me!

So my blog for today; Once again I've been shopping and I really shouldn't have. I've spent money from my savings which is not good and I definately didn't even need any of the things that I bought. But! Like many other shopping addicts, I literally just can't resist!

I decided I wanted to buy a new nail polish, and also wanted to try the, averagely new? Collection 2000 Lasting perfection concealer. I've seen alot of other girls talk about this product on their blogs, so I wanted to see what the hype was about!

You can't really see but on the little black spot in the middle, it states '16 Hour Wear'. My camera decided not to show this!
Now, I must admit, when I see products like this, they are always hard to believe that 8, 12 or 16 hours for a full coverage of make-up, and no top ups necessary, is unbelievable. But deliberation aside, this product is quite true to its words! I dabbed a bit of the product on my nose in the store as my foundation had worn off a little, my shiny nose was peeping through! That was around, 4 o'clock? Now it's 21:19, and my nose is still covered! So, 5 hours later, we're doing well!
I'll try this more tomorrow when I apply my make-up in the morning, but so far so good! I think this is gonna work! The concealer costs around £4 in Superdrug which I think is pretty reasonable. Especially if it stays there for 16 hours!
So all in all, I'm pretty pleased with this buy of the day!

-

My nail polish!
I am quite in love with this colour now I've bought it home! I wasn't too sure what shade I was after, but after seeing this I decided I had to get it!

I took this photo like this just so you could see what it looks like in the bottle. Very pretty! A glittery purpley taupe kind of colour. It's called 'Dusky Mauve 313'

And again this photo so you can see my nails. I haven't cleaned them up yet so they look a bit messy! But I think it's a really lovely colour. As always BarryM polishes cost £2.99, or 2 for £5.00. I only got the one today as I couldn't decide on another!
It's one of those colours that when it catches the sun, it really stands out! Like those cars you sometimes see that change colour! I really like this though. I better get on with the other hand!

-

Now this! I am so annoyed about haha! I was in House of Fraser when I saw this cute little Clinique make-up bag that had all these items inside!

So, the deal is, you buy 2 items from Clinique. A skin care item and anything else, then you get this cute little baby for free!
If only I had bought my Clinique skin care range in House of Fraser. AHHHHH!
I literally think I'm just going to have to buy something on purpose to get this. I know it's not really free as you are still buying 2 products, but it's such good value!

Inside you get: (the bag obviously)
7 day scrub cream rinse off formula - 50ml
Superdefense SPF 25 age defense moisturizer - 15ml
Blended face powder in Invisible blend
High impact Mascara in black
Superbalm moisturizing gloss in grapefruit - 7ml
2 piece brush set: Power and foundation
Plus! Your own choice of superbalanced make-up 15ml in:Vanilla, ivory or sand.

...
So. I'm pretty gutted I didn't see this earlier and get my Clinique stuff in HOF!
Hurry though! The offer ends on the 28th May. (pay day) :D So you know where I'll be on the 28th!

-

Lastly, just thought I'd show you the 2 cute tops I bought from good ole Primark!

Love love love this! The material honestly feels so good, like silk. I think it's the best material I've ever felt in Primark. It's one of those tops that comes up kind of short, so I'll probably wear high waisted shorts with it or a bodycon dress or top underneath! For £5 though! You can't go wrong!

Love this also. £8. Again it's a short body top. Underneath theres a little boob tube/bandeau styled crop top which covers your main area! Then the tassles at the waist just flow down over your belly (if you want it out!)
Personally, again, I think i'll wear this with high waisted shorts or a top underneath so my belly isn't out! But who knows one day I might be feeling brave! Or the weather might be nice!

-

And lastly, I bought this gorgeous scarf for £5 in a random new shop I found!

I don't think this photo does much favours for it, but I love it! It has cream spots with a brown background as you can see. Then a thick strip of cream on one end of the scarf. The material is really light so I'll probably wear this in both summer and winter! Whatever the weather decides to be!

Tuesday, April 26

Hellooooo

I'm not really sure what I've done with that link below. I don't even know what formspring is!
(If you know please help :))

So I've got 2 things to post about today. No doubt later on I'll find something else to talk about! It's been a few days since I've blogged so I hope you're all well!
I finished working at The Body Shop the other day as I've now got a full time, 9-5, job! Woohoo! Time to start saving pennies for holidays. I just finished my shift the other day and one of my friends came in so I had a little mooch round the shops with her afterwards. I was after a Nude nail polish, which a customer that day had come in the shop, and had this lovely nail colour on! It was a Bourjous one called 'Miss Sweetie' It was really nude so I decided to go and look for it. But, typically, there wasn't any left!
Then this one caught my eye...

It's a BarryM polish, called Peach Melba, 318.
It's not exactly the same as the one I was looking for but I thought the 'peachy' shade would be lovely for summer. I applied about 2 coats for the way it looks in the photo! (It does look brighter in the pot for some reason, but I can assure you it's quite similar!)
I really like this colour, and can see myself using it most of the summer. (When it arrives!)

Another product I've been using lately is this;

'Veet Hair Minimising Body Moisturiser'
So apparently, this is meant to slow down hair growth. When I saw this in a newspaper, I was instantly drawn and knew I had to go and get it. I think it was around £6. Which I think isn't too bad if its gonna slow down annoying hair growth! I started using this when I got it then forgot to apply it for a few days.
I wondered why it wasn't working (haha)
Then I realised that you have to use it on a 2 week basis. So since yesterday, I've been applying this after I get out the shower.
My hair grows quite quickly, as yours probably does too! So if this works, it'll be a god send.

Expect a post in 2 weeks of silky smooth legs!
x

Just quickly! ; I knew I'd forget something I wanted to show.
Where I work, a new lingere shop has opened called, Boux Avenue. I went in there the other day to have a little nose. When I got in there, the smell they had going on, smelt SO good. I asked them what it was and a lady said it was their perfume.
Now, being on a budget I decided not to look at it as I knew I'd want to buy it. It honestly smells incredible, if you wanna smell it you'll have to go there!
So, I went back there the other day, asked where it was, and actually found out it was a room spray. (Kinda makes sense I suppose) I was a bit gutted I must admit, but I bought it anyway, seeing as the girl who served me said she sprays it on herself!
So I'm trying to use a room spray as a perfume. Not sure if that's ok... the back of the bottle says 'Avoid contact with skin' But it smells so good, I'll have to give in!

...and going by the bottle, it doesn't really look like a room spray!
